Ever wonder what Continuous Improvement is all about?

Circular diagram on continuous improvement with sections: Commitment, Strategy, Process, Performance. Center reads "Quality." Blue background.

Continuous improvement is a process that not only benefits the organization but also you as an employee. It's about identifying opportunities and making incremental changes to processes, products, and personnel. It's a commitment to our long-term success and your future with KAL!

What does this mean for you?

  • Efficiency: By streamlining processes, you reduce waste and improve productivity.

  • Quality: When you enhance the quality of our products and services, you're not just meeting customer needs. You're also securing your job!

  • Value: Your role is crucial in ensuring KAL delivers maximum value to its customers. In most cases, you are the last person to touch a product before the customer! Your dedication and hard work make our products and services valuable to our customers. You're not just a part of the process; you're the reason our customers keep coming back!

  • Value-Added: Ensure that every action (steps, arm movement, turn) we take contributes to the finished part.

Equipment Assembly - Eductor Line Kaizen

If you work in EA, you may have witnessed or even been a part of the eductor line kaizen. This was a focused improvement effort where we evaluated waste, identified issues, developed and tested solutions, and implemented them. Now, with standard work instructions, we are continuing to make improvements that will impact our futures!

ECN Kaizen

Every Tuesday in February, a diverse team of employees came together to proactively evaluate and eliminate waste in engineering change notifications (ECNs). This kaizen demonstrates that improvements can be effectively implemented even in an office setting! We are looking forward to seeing cost and time savings with this kaizen.
