Job Description
Position: Mold Maintenance Technician Department: Knapp
Reports to: Tool Room Foreman FLSA Status: Hourly
Summary of Position
Under the guidance of the Tool Room Foreman, the Mold Maintenance Tech will be tasked with routine mold maintenance, cleaning, changeovers and light repair work. Documentation of work is required to be completed on a daily basis
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge of various hand tools (Manual or Electric) needed to disassemble and reassemble plastic injection tools

Understanding of safe handling of mold bases (Hydraulic lift cart, electric hoist, chain hoist)

Basic Computer Skills (IE: Microsoft Windows and Office)

Ability to take notes or remember the order of operations of disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of tools

Organizational skills to remove components from a mold and to be changed over and stored in a designated area. Ability to then reassemble the tool with the desired components for a proper mold change over

Perform job functions in a safe manner; know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures.

Ability to work in week and weekend overtime

Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree from two-year college or technical school helpful
-
High degree of mechanical aptitude
-
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of success.
Critical Thinking

Highly comfortable using computers and applications necessary to perform the job.

Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
